our souls run marathons,
jumping over hurdles,
climbing rock walls,
swinging across lava
with a broken rope,
but the only sports in
your untitled triathlon
are the only ones
i've never played:
ROUND I) hide-and-seek
in other words,
"you-hide-and-i-never-find-you"
Outcome: you win, naturally.
ROUND II) pin-the-heart-on-someone-else
Winner? You, of course.
Like you really need another
medal for your Wall-of-Betrayal
ROUND III) find the truth in the lie-stack (this one's a personal favorite)
Guess who takes gold?
(and silver and bronze)
Well, here's three hints:
1. WHY do i keep losing?
2. OH, don't blame me...
3. YOU.
wait, that last one was a dead giveaway
(as if you gave me anything but trouble)
silly me for trying to answer
a question with an answer;
but i'm all wornout by now:
out of your league;
out of stamina,
out of energy,
out of patience,
since i'm out of breath,
can you lend me yours?
i know i am no athlete,
but how fun can it be
tearing pages from the rulebook
or carving papercuts in my face
when i'm sore enough as it is?
(wait, don't answer that!)
i'm tired muscles
and bruised egos
and sweaty palms,
but if love is a game,
then lust must be
an olympic event.

Literature
Absolutely
I'm the guy your parents
warned you to stay away from
the one that all your friends
say is no good
yet wouldn't hesitate if they
had the chance
And believe me quite a few have
I've been called arrogant
confident, cocky even
conceited
but none of those
even scratch the surface
honey I'm an
asshole
Even that is an understatement
There's no question about it
you made a mistake
ever falling for me
because I'll never catch any
girl
Because the weight is too much
Especially when they fall
on their backs
and we
hit the sheets
and before you wake up
I've already left
The reason we always go to your place

Literature
Ordinary
Most people fall in love with the extra-ordinary.
Dear me,
You are not most people; never for a moment try to believe you are. You stand out from the crowd, with your quiet ways and subtle humor, and, in the beginning, that's horrifying. But soon enough, you will learn to lift your eyes and set your jaw; you will learn the word no when it comes to fools; you will live emblazoned over the world like a fiery rainbow.
You will learn many, many things in the coming years.
You will learn to smile with all the vibrancy you have tucked away inside of you, and you will learn to be that other kind of beautiful. The kind that dreamers and thinkers

barefoot in the rain
it's too cold to speak into payphones without trembling. it's one of those nights when the whole world seems to be the colour of smoke. I am screaming even though I know nobody will hear me. I press my face against the window glass and it's cold enough to feel exposed, but not cold enough to want to stop.
it's like the r-rated movie I watched when I was ten years old. I wanted to scream but my own swollen fingers were covering my mouth. now I am pushing two fingers into my mouth like the one time I pressed my palm into the shower drain. I wanted to be sucked in. I wanted to fall out. I wanted to be in a place where it was raining all the tim
